Overall Summary
The purpose of this role is to work closely with the Head of Production and Production Team to assist in all operational aspects of Garrard production.
You will;
1. Have a keen interest in fine jewellery and gemstones
2. Have a desire to be part of a busy team, with a very hands-on approach
3. Align with Garrards core values, centred on Planet, People and Product. Approaching tasks with the highest attention to detail and consideration for sustainability goals
Responsibilities
4. Assisting in quality checking all Garrard jewellery to ensure it meets the companys high standards.
5. Maintenance of the departments QC log, tracking any persistent issues and flagging this to the appropriate department.
6. Maintenance of the logs for wedding bands, eternity and signet rings, ensuring that all relevant engraving detail is captured and communication with internal and external workshops is maintained so that all production deadlines are met.
7. Communicating with workshops on quality issues and product that does not pass quality standards, returning product where applicable.
8. Checking and creating comprehensive stone reports for all high value gemstones which pass through the business, capturing detailed images, noting all relevant stone information as well as any areas of concern.
9. Creation and maintenance of comprehensive QC reports with detailed images for all High Jewellery and single stone items, as well as keeping the list of QC reports up to date.
10. Working alongside the Head of Production to ensure all repairs are reviewed and actioned in a timely manner.
11. Maintaining Garrard jewellery repair and workshop logs to ensure items are complete in time and accounting for material and costs.
12. Supporting the production team in checking all stones related to repairs and conveying any necessary information and concerns so that accurate quotes and information may be communicated to the retail team.
13. Creating accurate shipping documents for product shipments.
14. Maintaining SKU information, such as detailed measurements and specifications, for use within the department and for ecommerce purposes.
15. Assisting in all other ad hoc production duties on a day-to-day basis.
16. Building strong channels of communication with all internal departments eg. Sales, Merchandising and Logistics, working to overcome challenges that may affect the delivery of the production timeline.
17. Management and direct responsibility over the teams Production Assistant, delegating relevant tasks, monitoring their performance, steering their growth, as well as recognising and addressing any knowledge gaps and providing constructive feedback.
Skills
18. Experience in quality checking fine jewellery is essential
19. Gemmological knowledge of diamonds and other precious stones, a gemmological qualification is essential
20. Line management skills and experience
21. Team-oriented and able to work flexibly across different departments
22. A logical thinker who is precise and has excellent attention to detail
23. Experience working to tight deadlines
24. Experience in SAP software a bonus
25. Proficient IT in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
26. Good spoken and written English
