Overview
We are seeking a dynamic, part-qualified Financial Controller to join a well-established and fast-growing company that has great aspirations to grow over the coming years. This role is ideal for a self-starter with a strong background in accounting, who is ready to take the Finance department to the next level and prepare it for the future.
Duties
1. Oversee the Purchasing element of the business, working collaboratively with other staff.
2. Handle accounts payable duties, including invoice processing, statement checks, supplier query resolution, payment organisation, and maintaining an accurate Aged Creditor report.
3. Manage accounts receivable tasks, such as raising AFPs, customer invoices, debt chasing, debt query resolution, and maintaining an accurate Aged Debtor report.
4. Conduct weekly bank reconciliations and maintain up-to-date records.
5. Maintain accurate Balance Sheet schedules for Fixed Assets, Prepayments, and Accruals.
6. Perform full monthly balance sheet reconciliations to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the monthly Balance Sheet and Management Accounts.
7. Prepare and present monthly Management Accounts to Directors and Shareholders.
8. Prepare and monitor cash flow forecasts.
9. Handle the preparation and submission of monthly CIS returns, Payroll journals, and payments for monthly PAYE and CIS returns to HMRC.
10. Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns and annual P11D returns.
11. Support external accountants in preparing and finalising Year End Accounts.
Requirements
1. Proven experience in AP, AR, Credit Control, Management Accounts, and VAT returns.
2. Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting legislation.
3. Ideally Construction industry experience but will consider outside.
4. CIMA/ACCA qualified or studying towards full qualification.
5. Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero.
6. Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
7. Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
8. Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex information clearly.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £60,000.00-£70,000.00 per year
