Service Technician

Job Description:
Service Technician urgently required for a very specialist equipment manufacturer based near Amesbury. You will be a skilled and experienced technician working from the head office workshop, offering technical support, covering maintenance, calibration, and contractual requirements relating to the company equipment on site.
The Service Technician is responsible for service and repairs and responses to customer and partner requests for support and application assistance of our products and services. You will own the processes and systems that capture, communicate, escalate, store, and retrieve information on this support.
This is a key role in the business where you will be required to support both the internal workshop and service engineers in the field, working with customers and offering top-level customer support and technical issue resolution. You will be working within a customer-focused returns department and help develop ideas and system changes to improve the products and service to customers.
This hands-on role will require practical involvement with the instruments and equipment.
The Role:
1. Repairing, calibrating, and fault-finding on all equipment.
2. Dealing with preventive maintenance, contracts, and calibration matters.
3. Workshop-based point of contact for all technical inquiries regarding our products.
4. Responding to customer inquiries and questions promptly and keeping them updated.
5. Using and maintaining clean data in company systems such as (E-mail, CRM, ERP, and others).
6. Ensuring customer issues are lodged correctly within the customer feedback system and escalated as required.
7. Visiting UK customer sites as/when required in a technical capacity, including calibration days and trade shows.
8. Providing application information for customers regarding which method/equipment is recommended.
9. Fault-finding instruments and performing basic level repairs.
10. Assisting the customer feedback resolution team when reviewing product quality issues.
Ideally, you will have a background in engineering or manufacturing; any experience within an instrumentation, clean room, or laboratory equipment type industry would be an advantage.
