An exciting opportunity has arisen within Cancer Services for a Band 7 Colorectal Clinical Nurse Specialist to join the established colorectal cancer nursing team at EKHUFT at QEQM hospital.
The post holder will be an integrated and valued member of the existing Colorectal Cancer Specialist Nursing Team helping to support colorectal cancer patients across the pathway.
You will need to be flexible and adaptable with excellent communication and organisational skills, the ability to work at pace, improve patient experience and be willing to develop and improve the service.
The ideal candidate will have post registration experience within an oncology speciality. Colorectal cancer nursing experience would be an advantage.
The post holder must be enthusiastic and motivated to deliver the highest standards of care and support to colorectal patients across the pathway.
The post-holder will deliver an expert, specialist service to patients diagnosed with colorectal cancer. The role includes developing, implementing and evaluating a seamless specialist service ensuring that patients receive the highest standard of clinical care. This will be achieved through clinical practice, management of patient caseload, education, research, audit and professional activities.
The post holder will act as a resource for patients, their carers, nursing colleagues and other healthcare workers by offering expert skills, advice and support. They will liaise with the primary care sector and work collaboratively with the Kent and Medway Cancer Alliance, Kent & Medway Collaborative, The Kent Tumour Site Specific Groups and Networks.
