Do you have working experience across weapon systems; Defence OR Aerospace? Do you want to join a World Class Defence Organisation, based in Bristol to lead the future of Mission Planning & Control? They are actively seeking a Lead Architect located in Bristol.
Skillset/Experience Required:
Strong background in complex systems architecture.
Experience as a practitioner of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) in a relevant environment.
Understanding or experience of key architectural principles in a product line environment would be advantageous.
Proficiency with:
1. Rhapsody (essential)
2. SysML
3. IBM Engineering Workflow Management (formerly Rational Team Concert) (essential)
4. DOORS Next Generation (ideal)
The successful candidate will:
1. Own and maintain the MP&C Architecture Vision.
2. Support the Head of FC/ASW TP15 MP&C in capturing activity breakdowns, plans, and key milestones associated with the MP&C architecture development.
3. Delegate tasks locally to MP&C architects.
4. Manage the delivery of work packages.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Ensure coherence of the TP15 MP&C architecture with the broader Weapon System Architecture, including decomposition traceability and interface definition.
2. Guide the team in the process and implementation of using the architecture model to support and drive design definition.
3. Report directly to the Head of FC/ASW TP15 MP&C, including upward reporting of progress and issues, distilling direction into effective team leadership, and supporting and collaborating with other first reports to achieve team objectives.
