Job Description Job Summary: The Maintenance Technician is responsible for troubleshooting systems, performing preventive and predictive maintenance, and ensuring the safe and efficient operation of equipment in the casting department. This role supports production activities, adheres to safety standards, and works closely with supervisors and team leaders to minimize downtime and enhance equipment performance. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Follow and enforce all plant safety rules and policies, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO). Maintain and ensure the functionality of safety devices, such as light curtains, safety gates, barriers, e-stops, and guarding systems. Ensure all equipment meets NEC, OSHA, RIA, regulations. Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair manufacturing equipment, including PLCs, HMIs, robots, and electrical, mechanical, and control systems. Perform preventive maintenance (PM) and total productive maintenance (TPM) inspections, documenting issues and completing necessary repairs. Disassemble and repair defective equipment, including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. Support continuous improvement initiatives, lean manufacturing processes, and root cause analysis for equipment failures. Identify and implement equipment modifications and improvements. Provide input for spare parts requirements and maintain accurate documentation. Communicate effectively with team members and other departments, including downtime reporting via email and shop logics. Assist in training operators and new team members on equipment processes, TPM, PM, and control panels. Interface with production associates and supervision to resolve equipment-related issues promptly. Assist in the design and installation of new or improved manufacturing equipment and components. Maintain good housekeeping (5S) practices in all work areas. Use computerized or manual systems for maintenance documentation and root cause analysis. Stay past shift end, as needed, to complete tasks and provide effective handoffs to leadership or team members. Report and address any safety or environmental issues immediately.
