An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Medical and Safety Directorate within Healthcare Improvement Scotland, the national improvement agency for health and social care in Scotland.
We are seeking an experienced and credible Senior Improvement Advisor to join the Perinatal, Paediatric, and Acute Adult Care portfolio. The Senior Improvement Advisor will lead the scoping, design, and delivery of defined programmes of work within the portfolio.
Programmes Within The Portfolio Include:
* Scottish Patient Safety Programme (SPSP) Acute Adult aims to improve outcomes and the experience of people accessing acute care.
* SPSP Perinatal and SPSP Paediatric Programmes engage with teams delivering maternity, neonatal, and paediatric care across NHS boards to improve outcomes for women and birthing people, babies, children, and families within Scotland.
* Focus on Frailty is a joint programme with Community Care and Dementia that aims to improve the experience of and access to person-centred, coordinated health and social care services for people living with or at risk of frailty.
The work is innovative and complex. The postholder will be responsible for delivering specific work programmes, using their leadership, communication, improvement, and programme management expertise, and be a proactive problem-solver. The role requires pace, adaptability, innovation, influencing, and the ability to navigate complexity. The postholder will work collaboratively across Healthcare Improvement Scotland and a broad range of partners across health and social care.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate experience leading teams to deliver successful large scale improvement programmes and possess an improvement-related qualification. They will be skilled in the data and measurement for improvement, engaging people with lived and living experience, and experienced in bringing together diverse groups to progress improvement on priority areas in health and social care. Knowledge or experience of health and social care within an acute hospital setting is desirable.
We are looking for people educated to master’s level in a relevant subject or have equivalent knowledge and experience in improving health and social care services.
