Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Full-Time Teaching Assistant to support the teaching and learning experience at a local SEN school in Bournemouth. The ideal candidate will assist teachers in the delivery of lessons, help manage classroom activities, and provide individualized support to students. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of young minds in a dynamic and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Classroom Support: Assist the lead teacher in delivering lessons and activities, ensuring students are engaged and actively participating.
* Student Assistance: Provide one-on-one or small group support to students who need additional help with assignments or tasks.
* Classroom Management: Help maintain a productive and positive classroom environment by assisting with behavior management and ensuring that students follow classroom rules.
* Grading & Administrative Support: Assist in grading assignments, projects, and tests, and help with the preparation of teaching materials and resources.
* Individualized Instruction: Work with students with special needs or those requiring additional academic support, helping them meet their learning goals.
* Communication: Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and staff to ensure a smooth flow of information regarding student progress and needs.
* Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of student performance, attendance, and behavior when necessary.
* Professional Development: Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and contribute to the school community.
Qualifications:
* Education: A high school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s degree in Education, Child Development, or related field preferred).
* Experience: Prior experience in an educational setting (preferably as a Teaching Assistant or in a related role). Experience working with children or young adults is a plus.
* Skills:
o Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
o Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, staff, and students.
o Patience, adaptability, and a positive attitude.
o Organizational skills with attention to detail.
o Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., MS Office, Google Classroom).
* Certification (Optional): [Any specific certifications or clearances required by the school or district, e.g., First Aid, CPR, background check.]

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
