Responsible to: - The Manager / Senior Carer / Domestic Supervisor.
To ensure the clean and hygienic maintenance of the home.
To ensure residents privacy and dignity are upheld at all times.
To clean all allocated rooms, including: Furniture, Fittings Fabric, Carpets and Equipment.
To be aware of the Health & Safety policy, Fire policy, C.O.S.H.H. and any other policies and procedures relating to the organisation.
To clean sanitary and other equipment, paying particular attention to guidelines for the control of germs and infestation.
To report any malfunction of equipment of fittings that require maintenance or cannot be kept to standard through normal cleaning procedures, to a senior person.
To deal with domestic waste and its disposal.
To be part of Cleaning Rota and to share in cleaning duties and monitor quality of cleanliness.
To be responsible for reporting when cleaning materials are running low and to minimise wastage.
To perform other such reasonable duties as may be required.
To be aware of the resident’s laundry needs.
To ensure that every resident enjoys clean and well-maintained laundry and that this is presented to the required standard.
To manage the laundry procedures effectively to prevent unnecessary build-up.
To ensure that bundles of laundry are identified for the staff to load and unload into the washer(s) and dryer(s).
To ensure a regular supply of detergent and fabric conditioner.
To be responsible for the maintenance of the laundry equipment and the daily de-fluffing of the dryer(s), reporting any defects to the Manager / Domestic Supervisor / Senior carer.
To ensure the correct procedure is followed regarding soiled and infectious linen.
To allocate clothes to their appropriate space.
To distribute clothes into the residents rooms.
To ensure the correct marking of the residents clothes.
To keep the laundry room and store area in a clean and hygienic condition.
To perform other such reasonable duties as may be required.
To meet the aims and objectives of the home.

Qualifications:
- Previous experience in cleaning or janitorial services is preferred but not required.
- Ability to work independently, follow instructions and work as an effective Team member.
- Strong attention to detail and thoroughness in completing tasks.
- Physical stamina to stand, bend, and lift for extended periods of time.
- Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Good communication skills to interact with team members and supervisors.
