The School of Engineering at the University of Central Lancashire is seeking a skilled and driven engineer to join our latest Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) project as a Senior Mechatronics Engineer focused on developing next-generation wearable technology for animals. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in a high-impact research project, collaborating with top industry partners and academic supervisors in cutting-edge engineering.
This role is based at our Preston campus and involves close collaboration with our industry partner, with whom you will also work directly. Further details about this business will be shared at the interview stage.
In this role, you will use your expertise in mechatronics, simulation tools, and animal welfare to contribute to the design, prototyping, and testing of custom wearable devices that will set new benchmarks in animal performance and well-being. This KTP will provide you with a unique chance to work at the forefront of engineering and animal biomechanics, aiming to develop technology that has both immediate applications and long-term impact.

Key Qualities and Skills We're Looking For:
* Proficiency in ANSYS, MATLAB, and prototyping for real-world testing.
* A passion for engineering and animal welfare, with a focus on practical applications.
* Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with industry partners and academic supervisors.
* Enthusiasm for hands-on problem solving and for translating research into impact.
* Good honours degree (2:1 or above) in Mechatronics engineering.
