We have schools in Colchester that are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated cover supervisor to join their welcoming team. The Role:
As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing classes of students in the absence of their regular teacher, ensuring that the students remain on task and focused while following pre-prepared lesson plans. You will play an important role in maintaining classroom discipline and supporting students' learning needs, ensuring they are engaged in their studies in a productive and positive manner.
Key Responsibilities:
* Supervise and manage students during lessons in the absence of the regular teacher.
* Ensure that students follow instructions and engage with the lesson material.
* Maintain classroom discipline and manage behaviour in accordance with school policies.
* Provide support to students with additional learning needs.
* Report any issues or concerns regarding students' behaviour or progress to the relevant teaching staff.
* Assist with administrative duties such as taking registers and assisting with resources.
* Inspire the students to reach their full potential.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
We are looking for someone who is confident, reliable, and passionate about supporting young people. The ideal candidate will have:
* Previous experience working with children or young people ideally in an educational or supportive environment.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* A proactive and adaptable approach to problem-solving.
* The ability to manage classroom behaviour and create a positive learning environment.
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
* Patience, adaptability, and a genuine passion for supporting student success.
* The ability to adapt to different learning styles and support students with a range of abilities
