Calfordseaden is a leading multi-disciplined construction and property consultancy. We provide a definitive range of services to the UK building and construction industry covering civil and structural engineering; chartered building and quantity surveying; project management; architecture and master planning; mechanical and electrical engineering; sustainability; fire consultancy, building information modelling (BIM); and health and safety. Role: This role delivers MEP CAD, Revit model and drawing production process as part of a small team. The role is to deliver this function with the CAD manager, setting the standard for efficient high quality drawing and model production with priorities and delivery strategies agreed in collaboration with the CAD manager. The daily workload bias is 75% towards high quality 2D drawing production using Autocad MEP with 25% of current and predicted future workload within a REVIT MEP environment. The majority of our technical output is biased towards client side advisory services, with design services to RIBA 3 and a RIBA 4A level of detail, with selected projects progressing to a higher level of detail. We do not complete working drawings level of detail or fabrication details. We avoid using CAD Bureaus and contract staff. The strategy is to deliver high quality coordinated information for tender, coordination and third party approval purposes Our main operating sectors are the residential sector encompassing, housing, student living, care and mixed use. This represents 90% of current and future workload by sector with generally small to medium size projects to £75m construction value. The remaining workload is within mainstream commercial sectors. This is a hybrid role that can be based in London, Orpington, Cambridge or Birmingham. What you’ll be doing: Contributing to the company standards for drawing and model creation working closely with the CAD manager to set and deliver to agreed standards. Self manage time and delivery deadlines set in conjunction with the wider team Working as part of a team alongside members of the MEP design team and wider CAD/BIM teams Follow agreed standards for quality and delivery of information. Continually review opportunities for operational efficiency using software, hardware, training and new technology. Produce Building services mechanical, electrical public health layout drawings using AutoCAD MEP and REVIT where required, both 2D and 3D coordination. Good knowledge of MEP systems and LOD requirements of BSRIA BG6. Contribute to the culture of the team, communicating clearly and concisely with colleagues What you’ll need: Qualifications Construction industry related diploma or degree level qualification, preferably in building services MEP and / or extensive experience 7-10 years in MEP sector. Autodesk family of software certifications desirable but not essential. Knowledge Autodesk AutoCAD MEP with productivity plug ins. Autodesk Revit, and related clash detection, visualisation, productivity and coordination tools. Working within common data environments to ISO 19650 standards Autodesk construction cloud data environment Extensive Building Services MEP knowledge gained within either a consulting engineering and/or contracting environment, preferably residential sectors. BSRIA BG6 levels of details against RIBA workstages Family, object creation, and drawing / model templates production. Basic knowledge of COBIE data production and interrogation. Basic knowledge of creating custom scripts and productivity tools Skills Working to agreed programmes and project time constraints.
