Job Overview
The Programme Planning Manager is a critical role within our Water Asset Strategy and Planning team, responsible for the delivery of the regulatory and business outcomes specific to one of the Strategic Programmes in the Water Portfolio. This role is accountable for the creation and on-going viability of the Strategic Programme Execution Plan.
Having led on the development of their programme for the regulatory price review submission, they will be required to lead on its delivery, being comfortable making well evidenced decisions when sizing and prioritising programmes of work or addressing risks to delivery of outcomes. They will, consider multiple views taken from across functional boundaries to credibly influence stakeholders throughout the delivery of the programme which will typically be between £0.5bn and £1bn per AMP.
1. Development and briefing of own programme to deliver outcomes and benefits aligned to the Business Plan and Southern Water’s asset strategies.
2. Ensure Strategic Programme of work is optimised to meet business needs, monitoring delivery, assuring the programme against delivery of regulatory commitments and against the Execution Plan.
3. Ownership of programme development and submission into price review process, utilising own team and consultant resources to develop a well evidenced and compelling case for investment.
4. Collaborate with the wider Strategic Programme Leadership Team (Strategic Programme Sponsor, Delivery Lead, Operations Lead, and Commercial Lead) on risks, issues and opportunities that may impact the Strategic Programme outcomes and benefits.
5. Timely briefing of well evidenced and high-quality Needs for delivery in-AMP, in accordance with the strategic objectives of the programme, accompanied by credible reference solutions to address them.
About You
6. The role holder must instil confidence internally and externally as an authority on the Strategic Programme.
7. The role holder will be familiar with aspects of the Water Industry such as operations, regulation and capital delivery with a proven track record of using this experience alongside strong Asset Management principles to effectively develop and deliver complex plans.
8. You will be responsible for ensuring planned benefits are delivered while constantly managing competing priorities. Working closely with asset strategy and planning, engineering and construction teams, you will be responsible for developing robust plans but have a flexible approach and not be afraid to try new things!
9. You will have the ability to prioritise and deliver objectives while being responsible for cost management. You will be delivering long term plans and have the know how to work tactically and strategically.
10. You will have excellent communication skills and experience applicable for programme sponsorship. You will engage and influence people, be forward thinking and be able to manage demand from internal teams.
Package
This role will be full time Monday to Friday with a hybrid approach to working between our Durrington office and home.
