Capi was founded by Mitch Riley, Scott Liddle, and Tom Watson. Mitch and Scott were COO / CFO / GC and CRO / CMO at Taptap Send, a remittance unicorn, and have spent two decades between them working in emerging markets. Tom is a third-time founder having founded Hubble and P4SD.
Role Overview
As Treasury and Payments Analyst, you will be responsible for ensuring efficient liquidity management, optimizing payment processes, safeguarding financial controls, resolving payment issues, managing banking relationships, and driving strategic initiatives to enhance payment operations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Ensure we always have sufficient liquidity in the right places to make payments to our clients’ suppliers in a timely manner.
2. Optimize where to send payments from based on our liquidity.
3. Build processes to anticipate liquidity needs and act on them.
4. Be a guardian of the payment approval process and safeguard mechanisms we have in place.
5. Troubleshoot and resolve complex payment issues, working with banks to find solutions.
6. Analyze performance against payment KPIs, identify system and process improvements, and implement them.
7. Manage our bank partnerships, including applications to new banks.
8. Oversee liquidity on our Africa-based bank accounts and collection channels, working with our local partners to optimize working capital efficiency.
9. Respond to routine payment-related compliance queries from our banks.
10. Work on one-off projects, such as optimizing payment routes based on historical data, API integrations with bank partners, and implementing new payment technologies.
Must-haves
1. Fluent in French
2. 2-5 years of work experience
3. Previous experience at a VC-backed start-up, top-tier consultancy, or bank
4. Highly organized

1. Previous experience working in or with emerging markets

This is a full-time position with competitive salary, share options, and benefits.
This is a hybrid position, with 3 days a week in the office, and two days WFH.
Start date: Ideally within the next 3 months (we realize that people will have notice periods to fulfil, and can adjust accordingly).
