Sessional Lecturer in ESOL
£25.18 per hour (£20.14 hourly rate and £5.04 holiday pay)
Coventry College is looking to appoint a dynamic and enthusiastic Sessional ESOL Lecturer who can inspire our learners 16 – 18 to achieve their full potential. We recognise that our lecturing staff are integral to the success of the College and student achievement.
The right candidate may be supported to complete additional teaching qualifications through progression within the sessional role. This will include a basic toolkit of teacher training techniques and will encourage you to develop the skills needed to be effective in the classroom.
This role will involve planning and providing high quality teaching, as well as taking shared responsibility for the administration of a range of courses and levels delivered throughout the provision.
As a Sessional Lecturer in ESOL, you should:
* Hold a relevant teaching qualification or be willing to work towards
* Hold a qualification in ESOL (or equivalent)
* Level 2 qualifications in English and Mathematics
* Provide evidence of continuing professional development
You should also be able to demonstrate:
* Previous experience of teaching ESOL to a variety of ethnic groups
* Experience of preparing students for ESOL Skills for Life examinations
* Demonstrate a real enthusiasm for teaching, with an ability to motivate and inspire learners to succeed
* Ability to deliver functional skills within relevant subject area
