We have a brand new, exciting opportunity for a Specialist Physiotherapist to work within our Northern Cancer Care (NCCC) team. You will work with the Advanced Physiotherapist to provide a high standard of physiotherapy care to a complex patient group.
Key Responsibilities:
* Delivering a high standard of physiotherapy care – patient focused and tailored to the individual.
* Liaising with the multidisciplinary team (MDT) and sharing progress and plans of patient care.
* Supervising students and support staff.
* Teaching across the department, MDT and where required.
* Involvement in service evaluation and service development.
* Deputising for band 7 when appropriate.
* To work as part of the multidisciplinary NCCC team delivering a high standard of physiotherapy care to patients within the speciality area.
* Working predominantly on inpatient areas, covering outpatient clinics as required and working alongside existing community teams.
* Working with the Advanced Physiotherapist and Occupational Therapist to educate patients/carers and other Healthcare Professionals in the therapy management of Cancer care.
* To be responsible for own continued professional development.
* Maintain a high standard of clinical care, quality improvement, and service development.
* Be dynamic, flexible and motivated to drive service improvement.
* Demonstrate a high level of clinical skill, knowledge, and communication.
Minimum Requirements:
* HCPC registration.
* Experience working as a Physiotherapist in the NHS providing a broad range of experience.
* A keen interest in working with this patient group.
* Good time management and organisational skills.
* Ability to work under pressure.
The post will be based at the Freeman Hospital, Newcastle upon Tyne.
