Helping to restore furniture to its true beauty!
We need your tender loving care to rebuild, fix and repair furniture for our customers' homes.
What you will do
* Evaluate damages and defects of furniture and home goods, ascertaining the level of repair, process and timescale required.
* Administer appropriate repair methods for various product types such as bookcases, chest of drawers, wardrobes, tables, chairs, and cabinets.
* Effectively manage and execute the repair workload schedule; ensuring a high-quality finish is met consistently and ahead of scheduled deliveries.
* Select and safely use technical equipment (hand tools, power drills, sanders, saws, varnishes), aligned to our health and safety measures.
* Maintain a clean and organized workspace to enable multiple repairs simultaneously to be effectively managed.
* Actively contribute to the continuous improvement and development of processes, materials, tools, and overall operational delivery.
* Regularly update task records, reporting on observations and outcomes, and notifying relevant teams of any potential delays or impacts to delivering on time.
* Maintain and replenish inventory items required to complete repairs; suggesting and trialing alternative items to enhance quality, reduce cost, or speed the completion process timeline.
What you will have
* Demonstrable practical experience operating as a Carpenter, Furniture Restorer, Furniture Conservator, or a relevant function within a manufacturing, production, logistics, construction, commercial, or domestic setting.
* Strong practical experience and technical knowledge for effectively restoring furniture/woodwork to a high-quality standard (including colour and stain matching, damage/defect repair).
* The capability to handle a range of varnishes and hand and power tools; with a clear understanding of what and when they should be utilized.
* Exceptional attention to detail, quality, and time management to meet customer deadlines.
* Good IT navigation and application skills.
Although any additional qualifications or upholstery knowledge would be of interest, ultimately you will already be qualified by experience, bringing a passion and strength for restoring furniture to its true beauty!
