Practice Plus Group are pleased to announce that they will be taking over the healthcare contract at HMP Garth, a Category B prison in Lancashire from 1st April 2025.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Mental Health Nurse to join our team there from April. The prison houses around 1500 men with a variety of health needs and within this role, you'll be an integral part of the healthcare team. Within this role, you will work within a multi-disciplinary team to deliver a nurse-led service and prevent hospital admissions.
This position is full time working 37.5 hours per week. You will receive an annual salary of between £42,094 and £47,466 per annum depending on experience.

Main duties of the job
As a Senior Mental Health Nurse, your responsibilities will vary. You will:
* Be responsible for assessment and ongoing management of our patients' mental health needs.
* Work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team as an autonomous practitioner managing a caseload of patients, assessing their physical, social, and psychological needs to develop a holistic health care plan.
* Contribute to our nursing strategy and vision to provide outstanding evidence-based care to our patients, seeking out, listening to, and acting on their feedback, so that care is personalized and informed by what matters to them.
* Deliver non-judgemental care, building therapeutic relationships and promoting professional boundaries.
* Play an active part in the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patients' care following our policies and procedures and always considering safeguarding.

Minimum Requirements
* Occupational Therapist or Social Worker - HCPC / NMC Registered
* Experience of working within mental health settings, developing knowledge and understanding of this patient group
* Evidence of Continued Professional Development
* Experience of working collaboratively with other agencies and stakeholders in a multi-disciplinary environment
Although not essential, ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community, or prison environment.
