About the role: We are looking for Teaching Assistant Level 2 (Business and IT) to join our Computing Department based at Bedford College. As a Teaching Assistant you will play a pivotal role in the success of our students by: Attending to the educational, personal and social needs of students and any other requirements depending on the student’s special needs and, wherever possible, make these part of the learning experience. Under agreed college procedures, giving first aid / medicine where necessary. Promoting and supporting the inclusion of all students in the learning activities in which they are involved. Assisting with preparation for college visits and the supervision of students on such visits, in liaison with the tutor / manager. Within the overall plan set by the class tutor assisting in devising and extending educational activities and in preparation of the curriculum. This may include contributing to the development and implementation of Individual Education Health Care Plans (EHCPs) and Personal and Pastoral Support Plans. To help assessing and systematically recording students’ progress and achievements, using the results of this monitoring in further support work. Supporting the teaching of English, maths or other specific curriculum areas / specialisms as required and agreed with the Learning Area Lead / Manager.
