BT is going through a transformation journey to move from its legacy technology stacks onto new strategic platforms, which is critical to our future success. This role will be essential to further enable that transformation, leading the design and build of a new AI-based Integration platform that integrates existing platforms. The aim is to provide a unified DevSecOps experience across our core platforms, increasing delivery speed, productivity, and adoption of APIs and Microservices, enabling migration of customers and closure of legacy systems.
What you’ll be doing
* Accountable for leading the design, build, and delivery of a new Integration platform for BT.
* Partner with a range of internal and external stakeholders to resolve issues, provide updates on progress, and achieve benefits.
* Lead a small team (potential mix of FTE and subcontractors) in building the BT Integration Engineering Platform.
* Ensure the quality of design and build and the secure construction of the platform.
* Oversee team work and ensure it is completed to a suitable standard.
* Support the team with hands-on development and provide guidance and mentoring.
The skills you'll need
* Proficiency in Java, preferably with Spring Boot.
* Containerization knowledge, particularly Docker and Kubernetes.
* Hands-on development experience (ideally in integration-related technologies).
* Strong knowledge of CI/CD practices and tools (Jenkins, Git, etc.).
* RESTful API design and implementation.
* Security knowledge (Authentication and Authorization).
* Ability to manage and mentor a team of developers.
* Analytical mindset to troubleshoot complex integration challenges.
* Ability to work with stakeholders of all levels.
* Strong experience in directly leading teams building integration solutions.
