Job summary The Acute In-Patient Specialities Therapy Team is looking for a passionate, enthusiastic, ITU specialist Physiotherapist to work within our growing Acute Specialities Therapy Team. This post will be based in the new ITU department in the recently completed BEACH building at the Royal Bournemouth Hospital. This post will provide specialist intervention and rehabilitation to ITU patients, train and support staff who are new to the area of ITU and partake in Quality Improvement work to ensure that the therapy provided on the unit is world class. Our team is split to cover the clinical areas of Front Door (Acute Medical Unit), Surgery, Medicine, Cardiology, Haematology, Respiratory as well as Intensive Care. The post holder will be expected to support colleagues and wards areas that are part of the Acute Therapy Team. You will need experience in a wide range of ward based and respiratory skills to provide care for a diverse patient population. You must be able to work autonomously and as part of a team, be organised and have well developed communication and interpersonal skills.You will be expected to support the team in the training and development of junior staff, physiotherapy students and those on the on call rota. We support ongoing individual professional training and development to provide holistic care to our patients. Main duties of the job There is a requirement for participation in on calls, twilight shifts and a weekend rota. We would consider job share/part-time working. This role is a permanent static physiotherapy post within ITU, supporting other teams throughout UHD as caseload requires. Rota: Usual working pattern 8am-4pm.
