£280 per day LTD
48 hours a week – Sunday to Thursday
Overtime may be available at the normal day rate
JOB PURPOSE
Our client is the UK Government’s nominated Prime Contractor (PC) under the Government-to-Government arrangements that are in place to provide equipment, support and training to Saudi Arabia. We provide maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) aircraft and train RSAF personnel safely in a training environment in how to use their aircraft, equipment and weapons. For such maintenance and training.

The Parachute Fabrication Technician works in a highly challenging yet equally rewarding environment, playing a key role in generating aircraft for the RSAF customer. The role is therefore extremely high profile and involves interfacing with other departments and organisation such as SMSCMC, Workshops, Quality, Product Safety, MODSAP etc.
Work involves a balance between undertaking on-aircraft and component maintenance. Activities as a consequence can vary on a day to day basis.
JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES
· Inspects, installs, repairs, maintains; services, overhauls, modifies, and tests survival equipment items used on aircraft such as:
Aircraft Assisted Escape System (AAES); Ejection seat parachute assemblies. Seat survival packs; including Day/night Flares and 16mm Flares, Life rafts….etc.
· Manage and provide functional guidance to the programs in respect of any engineering issues that may arise within their work area as well as supervision of tool control and the company SHE requirements and directives.
· Monitor all supply issues affecting the Parachute Fabrication Shop and implement human resources policies and procedures when required.
· Ensures work is carried out in accordance with the standards and procedures detailed within the MOE.
· Ensures strict tool control is carried out in accordance with tool control procedures.
· Managing spare part requirements using the Gold ESP logistics system.
· Be able to provide functional guidance to the SNTTP programs in respect of any engineering issues that may arise.
· Carry out TCTO’s and Special inspections when directed.
· Development of assigned SNTTP trainees.
· ITAR awareness
RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION
Essential
· National civilian / military equivalent and successful completion of a recognised aircraft maintenance apprenticeship OR ONC qualified with military add on training applicable to trade.
· Have extensive, proven experience within operational flying aircraft environment supported by formal recorded workplace applied related training OR 3 years on same aircraft type OR successful completion of apprenticeship programme (SNTTP/TSNTTP)
· Must have and be able to demonstrate sound oral and written two-way communication skills with the ability to be tactful, discreet and confident in dealing with people at all levels.
· Post holder must be HF trained, WOME trained.
· Demonstrate the ability to verbally communicate to a high standard on matters of a technical nature.
· Setting high standards for good housekeeping practices in the work area and ensuring the FOD prevention program is maintained to the highest standard.
