The team at McGregor Boyall Procurement is working with a UK-wide construction business that requires a specialist for ongoing project work. The role could suit an individual who has worked as a Procurement Lead or Category Buyer.
This is a hybrid role with some days spent in Oxford, occasional travel to other local and London sites, plus working from home.
The successful Procurement Lead will be at the top of their game and have a passion for delivering on interesting construction programmes. We require an individual who is adept at building strong business relationships and providing best value solutions for sustainable procurement.
While acting as a close business partner with senior stakeholders, you will be instrumental in developing greenfield procurement strategies, policies, and processes. Our client will want you to fully utilize your supply chain management skills to enhance strong collaboration between the suppliers and cross-departmental business units.
Duties Include:
1. Assist the team with market analysis, cost estimates, and vendor performance management.
2. Have complete responsibility and accountability for the procurement process of subcontractors.
3. In charge of the provision of management information and reports in accordance with project requirements.
4. Responsible for services and materials in line with corporate project procurement strategy.
5. Help to develop strong professional relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, and service providers.
Skills and Experience:
1. Experience in the construction industry is advantageous but we are happy to consider close neighboring industries such as Engineering, Nuclear, and Life Sciences.
2. Must have supplier experience and strong knowledge of the construction lifecycle industry and the various pillars within these project communities.
3. Delivering robust procurement strategies.
4. As the lead Procurement specialist, you must be able to demonstrate previous experience of close PMO liaison with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
5. Strong subcontractor contract liaison and administration, driving best value around the supply chain.
6. Must be an excellent team player with the ability to work with all levels of stakeholders.
