An exciting opportunity has arisen with our Fleet Services for a Workshop Assistant to join them!
Fleet Services are responsible for the management and maintenance of the council’s Fleet of vehicles, through internal workshops and outsourced provision. The Fleet of vehicles includes cars, vans and tractors as well as vehicles subject to O License requirements. Fleet Services are also responsible for driver and vehicle compliance.
As a Workshop Assistant, you will manage workshop reception services for operational vehicles and pool car users, ensuring efficient and timely customer service. Your role includes data analysis, invoice processing, and administrative support for fleet maintenance, as well as assisting the central fleet support office. You will also oversee pool minibus and car bookings, handle vehicle key distribution and return, and ensure worksheets are accurately completed.
Our candidate will hold an NVQ Level 3 in a relevant field or have equivalent experience with the Road Traffic Act 1985 and the Road Transport Act 1985. You should have a background in data analysis within a fleet maintenance environment, alongside experience in vehicle parts stock control principles. Excellent communication skills, and the ability to plan and prioritise work independently, are essential for success in this role.
