Job summary We are seeking to appoint a Consultant Ortho- Geriatrician who would work mainly at Watford General Hospital, West Hertfordshire NHS Hospitals' Trust with 4 sessions a week at the Royal National Orthopaedic hospital providing a medical liaison service.The successful applicant will join an experienced substantive Ortho- Geriatrician and have full support of the departments across both sites. Watford General Hospital is a busy district general hospital, which is currently undergoing redevelopment with the aim of a brand new hospital in the next few years.The applicant will provide care to patients admitted with neck of femur and non-neck of femur fractures as well as Silver Trauma.We have embraced the new virtual way of working a virtual hospital for frailty led by two substantive frailty consultants allowing for accelerated discharge safely into the community. We work closely with our community colleagues to help with admission avoidance with regular rapid response sessions and community MDTs with frailty clinics within the local community.
