We are currently recruiting for a Cook based in Bangor. The successful candidates will be required to start once the vetting paperwork, ANI clearance has been completed.
Rate of pay: £12.59
Hours of work: 9.00-5.00 - Shift rota / to work 2 weekends per month.
Responsibilities:
1. Preparation and service of food and beverages using appropriate methods as required by Woodlands to meet the requirements for the young people being held in custody, and the staff who provide care to these young people.
2. Deal with special dietary needs by following the instructions of the catering manager. When the manager is not on duty, liaise with the team leader or medical officer to meet the special dietary needs of the young person.
3. Assist the catering manager with the compilation, distribution, and collation of menus to meet the nutritional needs and requirements of the young people in care.
4. Maintain a professional, clean, and hygienic kitchen, and carry out / assist and monitor standards in compliance with food safety regulations and COSHH.
5. Carry out cleaning duties as laid out by Safe Food Policy (Environmental Health) in order to maintain standards and prepare cleaning rotas and schedules.
Minimum Requirements:
1. Up to date level 2 Food Hygiene certificate.
2. Knowledge of Health & Safety as set down by environmental guidelines.
3. Two years previous experience of assuming the responsibilities of a cook’s position.
4. NVQ level 3 or City & Guilds 705 or 706.
5. A current level 2 Food Hygiene qualification.
6. Ability to manage and motivate people.
7. Enthusiastic and self-motivated individual with great interpersonal skills.
