The College are seeking a talented Head of Learning improvement too work closely with the learning team in order to help students have the best possible outcome
Main Accountabilities:
i. To support curriculum managers with ensuring their work aligns to the Education Inspection Framework (EIF).
ii. To ensure high quality teaching, learning and assessment is the common expectation across the college.
iii. To support the promotion of safe, creative and healthy working environments where staff and students are encouraged to thrive.
iv. Working with curriculum managers to ensure students have secure, easy access to high class learning materials, in a broad range of appropriate formats.
v. To work alongside curriculum managers in addressing underperformance of staff or systems to drive improvement.
vi. To provide senior managers and governors with regular reporting in all aspects of quality improvement data including the student voice.
vii. To ensure all teams achieve audit compliance and work within expected quality procedures.
viii. To be an active member of the Staff Development Committee
ix. To manage a devolved budget overseen by the Head of Human Resources and to work closely with the Head of Human Resources in identifying cost effective development solutions and opportunities for curriculum staff
x. To contribute to the college duty manager rota.
xi. To ensure compliance with data protection regulations and policy expectations.
xii. To undertake other work as may be required from time to time by the principal.
Main purpose:
1) To lead on the operational improvement of the quality of education for all funding streams.
2) To coordinate and contribute to the production and publication of all aspects of self-assessment.
3) To work closely with other managers to provide focused oversight of quality processes, digital technologies and the associated curriculum staff development, to the benefit of all students and staff.
4) To develop and coordinate a cycle of ‘deep dives’ into each curriculum area, taking a risk-based approach.
5) To work closely with the VPC&Q in creating a positive student-centred culture.
The successful candidate will have:
Relevant degree, or equivalent - a minimum of a Level 5 teaching qualification
Level 2 English & Maths (GCSE A*-C), or equivalent
Teaching qualification e.g. Diploma in Education and Training (L5), formerly DTLLS, Cert Ed, PGCE, or equivalent
IOSH Managing Safely, or equivalent, or willing to obtain within negotiated timeframe.
Experience in a further educational environment and great industry experience can be vital
Proven recent management experience in further or higher education
