TIG Welders required for high integrity pipe welding at Hinkley Point C.
Long term roles (3-5 years) with starts throughout January and into 2025 subject to vetting and onboarding and passing the welder quals/trade test.
The roles are with Cavendish (part of MEH Alliance), they have various mechanical scopes but the main scope is the installation of the pipework on the nuclear island.
Suitable candidates will be required to test out at Nordic Engineering Training & Testing in Stockon on Tees to the following ISO 9606 standards:
SWQ-02 Butt Weld – 2” carbon steel pipe weld – 6G position – All TIG
SWQ-02 Fillet Weld – 2” carbon steel pipe to plate – horizontal position – TIG
SWQ-04 Butt Weld – 2” stainless steel pipe weld – 6G position – All TIG
SWQ-04 Fillet Weld – 2” stainless steel pipe to plate – horizontal position – TIG
You will also be required to do an ECITB trade test prior to induction at Bridgwater & Taunton College.
Employed directly by Cavendish, current rates are in line with the ECSA site agreement (Advanced Craft 5) on a PAYE basis as follows (January 2025 rate uplift TBC) :
Basic £27.12
OT1 £37.97
OT2 £48.82
Bonus Up to £2.72
Lodge Allowance: £48.16 per day
Periodic Travel: Return Rail Fare & Travel Time
Holidays: 25 days plus publics

The working week is Monday – Thursday (9.5 hours per day) then overtime applies after that, they generally work overtime every other weekend however this will increase over the coming months due to project demands.
