This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a variety of geotechnical engineering projects across the north of England, with occasional assignments across the UK.
Senior Geotechnical Engineer Key Responsibilities:
* Project Management: Lead and manage various geotechnical engineering projects, ensuring high-quality delivery and client satisfaction.
* Technical Expertise: Produce Geo-environmental Desk Studies, Site Investigation Reports, Coal Mining Risk Reports, and specifications for grouting of mine workings and earthworks.
* Client Interaction: Attend client meetings, supervise site work, and occasionally carry out fieldwork activities such as logging boreholes and trial pits.
* Team Leadership: Assist the Department Head with day-to-day management, supervise junior staff, and contribute to their professional development.
Ideal Senior Geotechnical Engineer Profile:
* Qualifications: Degree in Geology or Engineering Geology (essential), with a Masters in Engineering Geology or Environmental Geology (desirable). Chartered Geologist (CGeol) status or working towards it (essential).
* Experience: Preferably 10 years of experience (minimum 5 years for exceptional candidates) in ground investigation techniques, fieldwork supervision, soil and rock sampling, laboratory testing, and report preparation.
* Skills: Strong knowledge of geotechnical and contamination aspects, earthworks specification, remediation strategies, and consultations with regulators.
* Desirable Skills: Slope stability assessment, CLEA Risk Assessment, and Groundwater DQRA.

* Commitment: Dedication to continuous professional development and holding a full UK Driving Licence.
