Position: Senior Medical Editor
Location: Buckinghamshire (hybrid with 2/3 days in the office)

Salary: Up to £55k (dependent on experience)

Role & Responsibilities:
* Copyedit, style and proofread documents, mark-up/style written content and figures prior to typesetting
* Ensure all written work is produced in accordance with the agency quality and house style/client style (as appropriate)
* Ensure good therapy area knowledge
* Data checking documents and marking up references
* Uploading content and marked-up references to client review platforms, including Veeva, Zinc and Data Vision
* Set up and ensure maintenance of appropriate filing systems and databases, ensure a proficient user and deliver specific training as appropriate
* Be the main source of information for congress and journal information in specific therapy areas
* Manage editorial administrative tasks
* Manage and coordinate materials through studio to print-ready stage, including consideration of style, layout, design, colour, formatting, compliance and proofreading
* Manage specific aspects of editorial programmes (e.g. publication plans)
* Work within agreed timelines and budgeted hours to complete projects
* Maintain an excellent understanding of Good Publication Practice and the Association of British Pharmaceutical Industry code, and keep updated on other regulatory bodies that impact client business
* Interact with clients and KOLs on specific editorial aspects of projects and action requests
* Build professional relationships with external suppliers
* Excellent teamwork skills and ability to direct other members of the medical writing support team
* Coach and mentor other editorial assistant(s)
Requirements:
* Degree (science, preferably life science); PhD or MSc (desirable)
* Scientific knowledge and understanding
* Willingness/ability to learn and apply new skills and new scientific/therapeutic/regulatory information
* High level of drive, motivation, and initiative
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Awareness of industry guidelines and best practice and their application
* Experience working in Medical Communications (agency/pharma)
