Job Summary: We are looking for one or a two people to join our kitchen team from January, as cook and or baker or someone happy to do both roles. You will be working in a beautiful rural cafe in a historic village and joining a friendly chilled team. You might be looking for a couple of days a week or a full time role - if you love cooking and baking we would like to hear from you. If you are a trained chef or baker that is a bonus but if you are an enthusiast with a love of food and being in a kitchen and wanting to progress a new career this could be the role for you. You will be working as part of a team. Duties: - Prepare and cook a variety of dishes and bake cakes following established recipes and presentation techniques - Ensure all food is prepared in a safe and sanitary manner, following food safety guidelines - Manage inventory and order supplies as needed - Collaborate with the cafe owner to create new menu items and specials - - Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area - Monitor food quality and presentation to ensure customer satisfaction - Adhere to all health and safety regulations Experience: - Proven experience as a cook/baker or in a similar role - Good knowledge of food preparation techniques and culinary arts - Excellent understanding of kitchen sanitation procedures - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail - Skills: - Food safety knowledge and certification preferred but training can be provided - Proficient in various cooking techniques and cuisines - or a natural passion and enthusiasm - Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively - Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with staff and customers - Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines If you are passionate about creating good food, enjoy working as part of a team and work well in a fast-paced environment, we'd love to hear from you.
