R&D Tax Consultant We are looking for an ambitious R&D Tax Technical Writer to join our client. This is an opportunity to join a forward thinking, technology-led firm who is continually innovating on their journey to the forefront of R&D Tax relief. The role Identifying qualifying R&D activities and expenditure through participation in technical discussions with clients for new and repeat claims Leading R&D discussions/workshops on clients, providing a clear explanation of the definition of R&D for tax purposes and discussing in detail, sector specific examples of qualifying activities Managing client & stakeholder relationships both internally and externally Proactively demonstrating that you can identify risks in claims Compiling technical project reports to illustrate eligible activities to support R&D claims with strong attention to detail and first-time accuracy Formulating an initial response to defending claims in the event of HMRC R&D enquiries Developing your own knowledge and skills in R&D tax relief and other related issues, to keep technical knowledge fully up to date in this evolving landscape Skills and personal qualities: Minimum 2-3 years work experience in the R&D Tax industry Strong project management skills and experience Comfortable with stakeholder management A logical, enquiring and problem-solving mindset Strong commercial awareness and great communication skills Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail Good knowledge of what HMRC is looking for in reports The will to make a difference and interest in shaping your career within R&D Tax A genuine interest and curiosity in Science, Technology & Innovation The capabilities to deliver innovative solutions to complex challenges An interest in your own personal development The flexibility to take on change, shifting tasks and priorities when circumstances dictate (hint: this happens a lot in a fast-paced consultancy) You will want to make a marked impact on the UK innovation landscape For more information on this fantastic role, please apply, or contact Ben Worsley via email or Linkedin.
