Environment and Climatic Adaptations Engineer

Could you be the full-time Environment and Climatic Adaptations (ECA) Engineer to work on project/offer development through the application of engineering instructions, guidelines and established internal processes of the ECA domain?
Your future role
Take on a new challenge in Derby and apply your Environment and Climatic Adaptations Engineering expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You’ll report to Evguenia Rode (Domain Leader Specialist), and work alongside a dedicated and passionate Engineering team in Alstom UK&I.
Day-to-day, you’ll participate in tender (client clause by clause; deliverables definition), project execution (calculations, specification, conception support for organic and functional performance of the train) and validation (involvement in train level type test during realisation phase); collecting and deriving climatic environment requirements and providing the related Transverse Requirements Specification (TRS); preparing and participating in a Design review for environmental adaptation; contribute to relevant Core Competency Network (CCN) (internal referential continuous improvement and R&D activities); checking Design conformity to TRS and EI during design reviews and all along the design (upon request), ensuring corrosion performances using ALSTOM standards; collecting REX (Return on Experience from previous projects) and providing to CCN (for capitalisation and translation into rules); R&D activities defined in the CCN road map.
We’ll look to you for:
1. Collecting and deriving climatic environment requirements and providing the related TRS
2. Ensuring corrosion protection performances using ALSTOM standards
3. Supporting engineering, suppliers, production and quality with metallic and non-metallic material selection
4. Liaise with Environment and Climatic Adaptations engineers from other sites to gather relevant REX
5. Participate in R&D projects and work packages

6. Chemical, Materials or General Engineering degree Bachelor/Master of Science or equivalent
7. Management skills to lead R&D actions with a transversal approach
8. Good communication skills, pro-activity, team working, strategic vision
9. Knowledge of climatic and corrosion international standards
10. English conversational/writing/reading advanced level mandatory
11. French conversational/reading advanced level is preferred
