We're seeking a Head of Health Economics & Market Access (HEMA) for the UK and Ireland to be based on a hybrid basis from our London Paddington office. In this role, you will be at the forefront of developing strategies to navigate the complex pricing and reimbursement processes, ensuring that Ipsen’s portfolio of innovative and mature medicines in oncology, neurosciences, and rare diseases achieves optimal access and reimbursement for patients. You will be responsible for creating robust access strategies and value propositions that meet the needs of payors. As a subject matter expert, you will engage and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders, fostering effective collaboration and rapid decision-making. Additionally, as a member of the External Affairs Leadership Team (EALT), you will play a key role in shaping the wider External Affairs Strategy, demonstrating leadership and being a trusted advisor as we work towards our vision for medicines access in the UK and Ireland. Business Partnering and Leadership Provide strategic counsel to the business across all portfolio and pipeline medicines to support Ipsen’s market access offering Partner with key stakeholders globally and locally to inform strategic decision making across Ipsen’s launch brands Proactively identify market access opportunities for the organisation through effective planning, horizon scanning and development of financially sound business proposals Showcase leadership across the External Affairs function and wider business, demonstrating a deep understanding of the policy environment for life sciences companies operating in the UK, and work cross functionally to develop and deliver robust strategic plans to support achievement of Ipsen’s business goals. Shape and drive the development of new policies and/or changes to current policies where these would benefit Ipsen’s portfolio and pipeline and keep the business updated on policy changes impacting our therapy areas Strategic partnerships and delivery of HEOR and HTA strategy Develop effective strategic business partnerships with key payers, including NICE, SMC, HSE and other UK & Irish stakeholders and related agencies Lead the team to develop and deliver high quality HTA submission dossiers, using external support and expertise where required, to key UK & Irish payers and related HTA activities such as advisory boards Develop outcome scenarios for all HTA product specific projects and lead option analysis and decision making Represent Ipsen at public meetings, NICE appraisal committee meeting and conferences and feedback key points into the company to support strategic decision making and planning. Support commercial access – systems and processes Understand the optimal pricing and market access approach (including clinical evidence versus standard of care, NHS/HSE budget impact, Cost Effectiveness, Payer attitudes, Reference Pricing, developments within evolving NHS/HSE) at national and sub-national levels Support Business Units and Business & Customer Excellence teams with national, regional and hospital level tenders where relevant and that market access is consulted and made aware of these activities Proactive horizontal leadership and alignment Develop and leverage contacts and relationships throughout key UK & Irish institutions from operational to strategic and executive to skillfully influence these players to drive specific business objectives. Build strong relationships with organisation and industry peers to strengthen Ipsen’s image, competitive position and performance Effective stakeholder management with key external partners working closely with internal colleagues cross-functionally including but not limited to patient advocacy groups, clinicians, NICE, SMC, NCPE, NHS England, ABPI and Horizon Scanning Groups Pricing & Commercial Strategy Primarily responsible for developing optimal pricing and market access strategies for pipeline products and in-line brands working closely with Global market access and the Access and Value Pricing Steering Committee (AVPSC) to present business cases in line with policy Develop pre-launch plans and secure resources to support effective preparations for launching new brands Manage Ipsen pricing tool(s) with Finance team support and liaise with Business & Customer Excellence team to ensure correct interpretation and capturing of national and sub-national discounts in relation to net pricing. Knowledge, abilities & experience: Educated to degree or equivalent level with a life sciences qualification. Post graduate certificate or MSc in Health Economics or Economic Evaluations is a bonus.
