Reed Accountancy is privileged to be working with a returning client who are looking for dedicated Finance Officer to join their already successful finance team. This role is crucial for delivering an efficient and effective transactional finance service, maintaining both purchase and sales ledgers, and ensuring all transactions are processed, reconciled, and reported accurately within agreed timeframes. This position offers a hybrid working arrangement and is based in Edinburgh. Day-to-day of the role: Administer the end-to-end operations of the purchase and sales ledger functions, ensuring all transactions are processed accurately and on time. Prepare BACS payment runs and ensure supplier invoices and payment requests are paid timely, including providing remittance advices to suppliers. Reconcile all supplier accounts monthly and ensure compliance with financial control frameworks. Maintain and administer the P2P system, resolving customer queries and liaising with support teams as necessary. Monitor and correct roles and responsibilities within the Housing and Finance Systems to ensure consistency with the Financial Control Framework. Perform credit control functions, produce reports, and liaise with customers to investigate non-payment issues, escalating them as required. Provide first-line support on all purchase and sales ledger matters, ensuring high-quality service and advising on relevant policies and procedures. Manage the finance email inboxes, ensuring all communications are coordinated and allocated appropriately. Support the Finance Business Partners and the Transactional Finance Manager with recurring transactions, management accounts, budgets, and financial statements preparation. Assist in the administration of financial procedures and ensure policies are implemented and communicated across the organisation. Required Skills & Qualifications: Proven experience in finance, specifically in managing purchase and sales ledgers. Strong understanding of financial control frameworks and transactional finance processes. Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
