Position Summary
The Deal Desk Analyst role is part of the Global Sales Operations organization within F5. This role will be responsible for supporting sales teams throughout different geographic regions in deal structuring, pricing and contract reviews. This role will also provide a high level support to both internal and external sales teams to facilitate strong relationships and generate revenue for F5. This is a fast paced role, ideal for someone who is highly organized, loves details and wants to exceed expectations.
This role will provide expert knowledge of new product offerings, services, support, licensing programs and best practices to the sales organizations to increase sales and revenue. This role is expected to make key decisions with/without input from the management team and provide recommendations and breakdown complex situations to sales leaders using analytics.
This position will act as the primary liaison between sales teams and other departments including (but not limited to) Professional Services, Channel, Finance, Product Management, Product Development and Legal to ensure deals are structured and negotiated properly while complying with F5 policies and procedures.
Primary Responsibilities:
* Manage day-to-day quoting, pricing approvals and analysis
* Provide and enforce discounting guidance to Sales teams on all active and pending quotes across multiple regions
* Ensure that sales and negotiation strategies adhere to established guidelines and policies, and maintains solid understanding of F5 licensing
* Manage to a set service level agreement on all incoming discounted pricing requests
* Partner with Finance to ensure consistency and transparency with the key performance metrics for sales reporting
* Study historical product pricing trends as part of larger deal reviews
* Identify and implement new, meaningful methods for deal reviews, deal scoring, and approval process
* Responsible for upholding F5’s Business Code of Ethics and for promptly reporting violations of the Code or other company policies
* Act as liaison between various departments such as Field Sales, Inside Sales, Channel Sales, Revenue Operations, Sales Operations, Global Services, Legal, Finance, and Accounting.
* Monitor and maintain assigned program(s)
* Provide communication and education on current processes and best practices
* Manage specific ad hoc projects/tasks and provide updates to Sales Ops Leadership
* Focused on assigned task that supports the Sales Process, improving deal velocity and removing roadblocks to close business.
* Able to understand the ‘voice of the field’ and “voice of the customer” and represent that back to the operations team to drive programmatic improvements.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
* Demonstrate the ability to think both analytically and creatively
* Intermediate computer skills including MS Excel, PowerPoint and Word
* Intermediate understanding of Channel, Direct Sales Processes and Programs
* Strong written, verbal and quantitative skills
* Ability to juggle, multitask, and prioritize in a fast paced environment
* Creative thinker and a self-starter
* Very organized and detail oriented
* Can conduct independent research
* Increased ability to draw concise, well supported recommendations based on detailed analysis of the given issue

Qualifications
* BA/BS Degree in Finance, Business Administration or related field preferred
* A minimum of 3-year relevant experience within Sales Operations or comparative role supporting a sales organization
Physical Demands and Work Environment
* Duties are performed in a normal office environment while sitting at a desk or computer table
* Duties require the ability to utilize a computer, communicate over the telephone, and read printed material
* Duties may require being on call periodically and working outside normal working hours (evenings and weekends)
* Must be willing to work extended hours during end of quarters
* Job may require occasional domestic and/or international travel
