Programme Overview:
PwC’s Black Talent in Business – Actuarial Insight Programme is part of a series of initiatives designed to support the career aspirations of Black heritage students. This programme offers an opportunity to explore the world of actuarial services, providing participants with a deep understanding of how PwC helps businesses manage financial risk and plan for the future.
This insight programme will introduce you to the actuarial profession, which involves using mathematical and statistical methods to assess risk in the insurance, finance, and business sectors. As a participant, you’ll gain hands-on experience working alongside PwC’s Actuarial teams, learning how they solve complex business challenges through risk analysis, financial modelling, and data-driven decision-making.
The Black Talent in Business Insight Programme is focused on nurturing diverse talent and providing participants with the skills, knowledge, and professional networks necessary to succeed in the actuarial field.
What You’ll Do:
Throughout the programme, you’ll work with PwC’s Actuarial Risk Modelling Services (RMS) teams, gaining exposure to the work that actuaries do to help clients evaluate and manage financial risks. You’ll engage in a variety of activities, including:
* Risk evaluation and modelling: Learn how actuaries assess and quantify risk for clients in sectors such as insurance, pensions, and investments.
* Financial forecasting: Understand how actuarial models are used to predict future financial trends and help clients prepare for uncertainties.
* Business operations: Gain insight into how actuaries support broader business operations, helping clients make informed financial decisions that drive long-term growth.
