Rail Estimating Manager
Hybrid - Warwick Office when required
To be responsible for ensuring accurate and competitive cost estimates for new projects and schemes for our Rail Division.
The role requires detailed understanding of the principles of cost assessment including equipment, plant and labour costs, as well as the ability to review and assess project specifications and drawings. The estimator will need to collaborate closely with project management and engineering teams to ensure all aspects of the project are considered and costed accurately.
Key Deliverables
Support production and submission of accurate and comprehensive estimates for projects in a timely and efficient manner;
Establish and maintain activity rates relevant to our business activities
Develop estimating tools based upon activity rates and unit rates
Ownership of the cost model template to include identifying areas for improvement Responsibilities
Control and management of the estimating process at bid, project or scheme level
Challenging costs estimates produced by the SME's in Delivery and Engineering
To contribute to the successful hand over between sales and the delivery and project departments
Working with procurement to establish activity rates from our sub-contractors
Validation of our activity rates against project out turns
Review project specifications, drawings and other documentation to aid preparation of detailed cost estimates.
