An exciting opportunity has become available for a qualified Social Worker to join the Fostering Service as an Assessment social worker, this would include the completion of Connected Person Assessments and Special Guardianship assessments.

The suitable applicant must demonstrate that they meet the requirements for a Grade 8 social worker in the Fostering service as described in the Job Description and Person Specification.
You will be responsible for undertaking connected person assessments in collaboration with the child’s social worker and contribute to care planning for the child. Be able to offer recommendations not only on the suitability of the carers but on their ability to meet the specific needs of the child(ren) being assessed on the least intrusive legal order. You will also be responsible for proposing a support plan for the carers that ensures that any areas of vulnerability are mitigated through the provision of support services.
What We Are Looking For From You
* A degree in Social Work (or equivalent) is essential for this role and you must be a Registered Social Worker, as well as excellent skills in assessment and the ability to write concise records and reports.
* You will have working experience of working with Foster carers and/or Special Guardians and proven knowledge within the legislation and regulations that are relevant.
* You will be a good team player, have excellent communication and organisation skills and have IT skills.
