Our Story
Department operates better workspaces where people and businesses succeed together. Our workspaces span coworking desks, private offices and creative studios across Manchester, Leeds and London. Each location is powered by 100% green energy and houses coffee shops, bars, wellness facilities, meeting rooms and breakout spaces so members have all they need under one roof.
What makes Department unique is our expansive neighbourhood locations in Spinningfields, St John’s and Leeds Dock. These prime locations give members and the community access to a network of services, amenities and partnerships designed to support growing businesses and their teams.
The journey began in 2014 when Department’s founding company, Allied London, created a coworking concept in Manchester named Hello Work. Allied London are a leading placemaking and property design group, that recognised the progressive movement towards flexible working environments. Building on the success of Hello Work, the brand evolved over time into the leading operating brand, Department.
