The opportunity:
The UK DevOps team is part of the UK Operations and IT function which drives technology delivery and change across the UK business. The DevOps team currently consists of a Mendix Low-code and a Salesforce development and operations capability; a MuleSoft API team and SmartComm digital content team is also being established. The DevOps team has fully embraced new ways of working including Agile, DevOps practices, API-led development, cloud-first, and CI/CD.
You will work as part of the DevOps Salesforce team responsible for the operational and small change software development demands of Zurich’s Salesforce platform across the UK business. You will report to the Salesforce Platform Lead.
Zurich Insurance UK is expanding its DevOps team to meet the increasing demand for digital transformation, API-led application development, Agile delivery, DevOps practices and innovation. The DevOps team is helping the business transform by improving efficiency and by putting the customer at the heart of everything we do via our digital transformation work.
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the DevOps Salesforce team as the Salesforce Operations (Ops) Manager. You will work in an Agile way alongside the Salesforce Release Manager, Salesforce Solution Leads, Solution Architects, MuleSoft team, SmartComm team, and the wider Salesforce team to ensure the effective management and operation of the Salesforce estate comprising of five Salesforce Orgs, all while learning and growing your skill set.
What will you be doing?
If you want to grow, enhance and mature an expanding team to provide operational support to the Zurich Salesforce enterprise platform, to contribute objective insight and technical expertise to the applications, systems and processes that are transforming Zurich through its online digital services, and mature Salesforce DevOps and Agile practices to deliver increasingly business-focused consultation and support, you could be part of an award-winning and rapidly growing DevOps team.
You will be a seasoned Salesforce Professional with experience in people and stakeholder management, meeting the operational requirements of multiple lines of business, translating defects, incidents and problems into requirements and resolutions. You will be shaping and delivering the highest customer service to over 2000 users, supporting multiple lines of business and across a diverse portfolio of demand. Working along Release Manager, Solution Delivery Managers and Architects you will be part of internal team accountable for delivering value to the business, ensuring stable operation, and future proofed processes.
This opportunity is no ordinary Salesforce Operations Manager role – Zurich has positioned Salesforce as a strategic technology with five Salesforce Orgs covering Service Cloud, Sales Cloud, Industries (Vlocity) and Nonprofit. You will gain a broad range of Salesforce experiences across multiple lines of business, portfolios and projects.

What are we looking for?
1. You will have Salesforce certifications ADM201.
2. Experience in people management.
3. Experienced in translating business demand into requirements.
4. Experience in managing competing demands, from demanding stakeholders in a frenetic environment.
5. Have Service Cloud, Sales Cloud and/or Industries (Vlocity) experience.
6. Great interpersonal skills, and good written and oral communication skills – being able to talk directly to customers to understand change and configuration requirements.
7. Enjoy problem solving and think logically.
8. Work collaboratively with the business to turn ambiguity into requirements.
9. Contribute to working in a diverse team with diverse backgrounds and skills.
10. Take responsibility for a piece of work from start to finish.
11. Enjoy providing a supportive environment to growing people and a team to deliver first-class operational and development support.
Desirable:
12. Salesforce Certified Advanced Administrator.
13. Salesforce Certified Platform Application Builder.
14. Experience of using JIRA.
