Typical responsibilities as Lead Technician will be to:
1. Oversee and manage job changes, ensuring minimal downtime due to mechanical issues.
2. Prioritise and delegate tasks to your engineering team of ten, ensuring all essential work is completed efficiently.
3. Plan and carry out preventative maintenance during job changes to reduce potential engineering problems.
4. Communicate clearly with plant management and other departments to optimise production performance.
5. Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and contribute to the development of new procedures.
6. Support the business in achieving key performance indicators (KPIs).
The successful candidate will:
1. Ideally be a time-served, qualified engineer.
2. Have experience in a process-driven manufacturing/maintenance environment.
3. Have strong communication and problem-solving skills.
4. Have knowledge of Lean Six Sigma (LSS) tools and continuous improvement methods.
5. Have a good understanding of Health & Safety Regulations.
6. Have good people management and leadership skills.
