Vacancy for Project Support Analyst - Low Cost Nuclear/Ukraine Programmes
The Project Support Analyst will provide support to the Head of Innovation Ukraine Programmes.
The individual will bring knowledge and experience of project management methodologies, what makes a PMO office successful, covering responsibilities, operational processes, systems, procurement practice and quality requirements.
Salary: £36,650 gross per annum
Reports to: Programme Manager & Head of Innovation - Low Cost Nuclear & Ukraine Innovation program.
Location: Field based
Contract: Fixed Term (Until 31st May 2028)

Job Purpose:
The Project Support Analyst will provide support to the Programme & Project Manager on the Low Cost Nuclear Challenge as this concludes and the Head of Innovation Ukraine as this develops.
This role will include managing and coordinating schedules, organising project team activities, the escalation of issues, management of risks and issues, attendance at and support in delivery/documentation of project meetings, accurate tracking and reporting of project progress, and ensuring projects run to the agreed ISCF PMO Process.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
* Project Planning - assist the Programme and Project Manager in producing programme/project plans and thereafter in maintaining the plans through checkpoint meetings, ensuring that the plans adhere to planning standards and are kept updated. Track and report delivery against milestones.
* Take a lead in programme procurement, working with specialists and co-ordinating input to ensure timely progress
* Regular risk and issue monitoring, ensuring programme/project logs are up-to-date and pro-actively leading reviews with programme/project managers
* Ensure accurate tracking and reporting of progress, performance to schedule and performance to budget of programmes
* Ensure accuracy and consistent quality across all programme documentation, including highlight reports and board packs
* Proactively monitoring programmes and flag information and concerns to the programme/project managers for action to be taken
* Take a lead role in agreed project management specialisms, for example risk management or lessons learned monitoring and review
* Assist in the development and maintenance of programme/project management documents. Examples of documents include - Business Case, Project Initiation Document, Budgets, Estimates Spreadsheets, Plans, Checkpoint Reports, Statements of Work, Highlight reports, Exception reports, etc.
* Assist in producing, reviewing and auditing individual project documents
* Ensure programme documentation is accurately stored on central systems
* Support the Programme & Project managers in preparation for progress updates, health check and gateway reviews
* Promote the use of ISCF PMO standardised processes and documentation
* Assist the team with the continuous improvement of PMO processes using project management methodologies e.g. Prince 2 and Agile
* Working with the Programme and Project Managers, build and maintain good working relationships with all internal and external stakeholders at all levels, setting stakeholder expectations and maximising co-operation
* Where required, manage the organisation and administration of internal and external meetings, workshops and events related to the LCN Programme such as project meetings, project board meetings, strategy workshops etc.
* The creation, collation and distribution of meeting agendas and papers.
* Attendance at meetings as required, including note/minute taking with the ability to distil key decision and action points from discussions.
* Ensures timely provision of internal and external status reports/information packs
* Provide assistance to the team on processes and make recommendations for improvements
* Ad-hoc project work as directed by senior management

Person Specification:
Experience & Qualifications:
Essential:
* Degree level qualification or equivalent experience. Prince2, Agile, P3O, APM qualification is desirable
* Experience within a project management office
* The ability to proactively gather actions and tasks required in agreement with stakeholders and create a plan/schedule of work considering scope, deliverables, timescales and governance
* Understand and evidence the importance of managing, mitigating and delivering risks, issues, benefits and quality
* Working knowledge or experience of structured project methodologies including formal project tracking and reporting
* Proven ability to understand best practice project management, why it is being applied and to help others to understand the importance of it in successful project delivery
* Good knowledge of: Microsoft SharePoint, Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Visio
* Proven ability to build effective working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders and use these relationships to influence, change and impact decisions
* The ability to identify, share and promote best practices and lessons learned
* Experience of working both on own initiative and as a member of a wider team
* Proactive management of own workload and ability to reprioritise with changing demands of the Programme
Desirable:
* Project management experience
* Experience in procurement, governance and contract management
* Able to work in an environment of uncertainty and continual change
* Experience working as a members of a large or medium complexity project team
* Knowledge of analytical processes and techniques

Travel Requirements:
Field-based: There will a requirement to travel, mostly national, and there is some flexibility in this. Innovate UK staff make extensive use of telepresence tools for meetings to minimise unnecessary travel.
