Job Title: Senior Piping Engineer Location: Aberdeen Contract Type: 12-Month Contract Key Responsibilities: Piping System Design: Assess and ensure the design of piping systems adheres to relevant industry codes through manual calculations and expertise. Address layout challenges by leveraging experience and practical solutions while collaborating with other engineering disciplines. Project Coordination: Effectively coordinate and implement all aspects of piping engineering within the project framework, ensuring alignment with project timelines and specifications. Design Integrity: Maintain the integrity and quality of designs, ensuring that all work complies with the required standards and specifications. Team Development: Participate in appraising, training, and developing engineering personnel, contributing to a highly skilled and competent team. HSE Commitment: Promote and adhere to health, safety, and environmental policies, driving awareness and ensuring compliance throughout the project lifecycle. Quality Assurance: Operate within the guidelines of the Quality Assurance system relevant to the Oil & Gas Business Unit to uphold the high standards expected. Safety Responsibilities: Prioritize personal safety and adhere to OH&S procedures while actively contributing to a safe working environment for the team. Qualifications & Experience: Educational Background: Degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent qualification. Industry Experience: Significant and relevant experience in Offshore Piping Engineering, particularly within the Oil & Gas and/or Petrochemical industries. Technical Skills: In-depth knowledge of piping layout design and associated procedures. Proficiency in relevant Industry Piping Codes. Experience performing critical calculations such as pipe wall thickness and reinforcement checks for branch connections. Familiarity with piping stress analysis, including a high-level understanding of stress requirements. Capability to evaluate pipe routings concerning stress and support structures. Material Knowledge: Solid understanding of materials used in piping, fittings, and valves. Experience in preparing technical bid evaluations (TBE) and handling requisitions. Certifications: Must possess valid offshore certification and be capable of conducting offshore surveys when required.
