Job overview
This role is designed for a Chief Cardiac Physiologist with broad range of expertise in cardiac investigations, particularly in adult transthoracic echocardiography (TTE). The position is based at London North West Healthcare NHS Trust and the Ealing Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC).
The Chief Cardiac Physiologist will serve as an independent clinical specialist, ensuring precise diagnostic practices and the provision of safe, high-quality patient care. The post holder will lead independently run clinics and offer expert guidance to physicians regarding physiological findings.
The role encompasses 7-day flexible working across the sites.
Main duties of the job
* To be proficient as an independent practitioner in non-invasive cardiology procedures.
* Perform and report on routine and complex transthoracic echocardiograms (TTE) to a high standard and in timely manner in accordance with departmental and BSE guidelines.
* Assist with stress echocardiography and transoesophageal echocardiograms (TOE).
* Work cross-site as per needs of the department.
Person specification
* BSc degree in Clinical Physiology or equivalent.
* Full BSE (British Society of Echocardiography) Accreditation or equivalent.
* Solid foundational understanding of basic ECG interpretations, including the ability to accurately analyse standard ECG recordings.
* Proficiency in operating GE and Philips Echo machines.
* Extensive postgraduate experience in Echocardiography, including independent practice at a senior level with skills in investigation, interpretation, reporting, and recommending alternative investigations when appropriate.
* Strong team player, committed to achieving the best outcomes for patient care.
* ILS certification.
* ALS certification.
* Master's level or higher degree in Cardiology.
* IV Cannulation.
