We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Finance Assistant to join our finance team. This position is perfect for someone who is organised, reliable, and possesses excellent customer service skills.

Role Overview
As a Finance Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our financial processes. You will collaborate passionately with the clinical team to chase outstanding debt, BACS payments, creating invoices, reviewing consent forms and adding missed charges. You will also work closely with the Hospital Director to manage financial processes and reporting and with the Relationship Manager to handle client accounts and ensure a positive client experience.
Process Responsibilities
You will be accountable for ensuring all banking processes are completed according to company policies, including petty cash reconciliation, cashing up, banking, and sales reports. Daily, you will check client account balances against estimates and consent, recording everything clearly in the practice management software. Working as a member of the Hospital team, you will support the oversight of the Drugs and Consumables Budget and assist the Hospital Manager with regular P&L reviews and financial reporting to identify areas for improvement.
Budget/Financial Responsibilities
You will have an in-depth understanding of the Hospital Pricing Guides and work with the National Referral Nursing Lead to address any pricing concerns. You will manage all supplier accounts, implement and manage Care Free Credit, and keep Referral Clinicians informed about client invoices. Additionally, you will ensure invoices are approved, perform mischarging, and Estimate vs Invoice audits, and complete all financial reporting tasks. You will manage refunds and discounts accurately and assist in maintaining records of all debt-related activities, drafting communications, and coordinating with clients and external parties regarding outstanding balances.
Team Responsibilities
You will develop and maintain excellent working relationships with clinical teams, including referral clinicians, veterinary nurses, nurse trainees, animal care assistants, reception staff, insurance administrators, and the Hospital Management team. Ensuring robust communication with Clinical Leaders and Clinicians on the Clinical floor, you will always communicate professionally and respond to staff in a timely manner. Additionally, you will provide temporary cover for reception when needed and assist the debt and insurance administrator with queries and communications with insurance companies.

7. Qualifications: A degree or diploma in finance, accounting, or a related field is advantageous.
Working Pattern
This is a full-time role requiring 40 hours per week, with a schedule of Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm or 8am - 4pm.
