We’re looking for a Senior Sourcing Analyst to work within the Commercial Strategy function to lead the management of cost of goods within Ocado Retail. As a Senior Sourcing Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in helping to ensure Ocado Retail remains commercially successful. You will work across several business areas, including identifying commercial opportunities by tracking the price of commodities, reviewing our current buying toolkits and sourcing strategy. Working with senior commercial stakeholders from the start, you will be naturally inquisitive, commercially aware and able to communicate effectively to a range of audiences, including at executive level. A combination of data sufficiency, project management and commercial instinct will set you apart for this role. This opportunity will help you develop technically and commercially, putting you at the centre of Ocado and its future success. What you’ll do Lead on co-ordinating the own label tenders and delivering against the tender plans Identify and implement new and improved ways to buy products using a variety of sourcing methods Support in the build, monitoring and development of product cost modelling and value chain analysis Using various data sources (e.g. Mintec) to provide data-led recommendations to buyers to support their negotiations with suppliers Keep detailed logs of support provided to buyers and resulting commercial implications Track commodity prices & identify opportunities to negotiate with suppliers proactively Identify key trends and market dynamics that shape the different categories Support in the review of buying practices, highlighting opportunities and implementing any subsequent changes Adhere to all internal policies and GSCOP regulations Support in the coaching, learning and development of the team around you Who you are Numerate or Technical Degree Experience in a retail/e-commerce buying function, food supply chain or in a FMCG commercial environment Highly inquisitive with a drive to seek out money saving opportunities for the business Knowledge of cost modelling and value chain analysis Exceptional commercial awareness and problem-solving ability Strong communication, teamwork and influencing skills Excellent Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills What’s in it for you By joining Ocado Retail you’ll have the chance to experience life at the world’s largest online retailer, work with an amazing bunch of people who challenge what’s possible each day and grow your skills and career in online retail.
