Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Area Supervisor to oversee operations within our designated area. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all team members deliver exceptional customer service while maintaining high standards of operational efficiency. This role requires strong leadership skills and the ability to communicate effectively with both staff and customers.
Responsibilities:
* Supporting the Head of Operations with all cleaning operations across various sites.
* Effective management of COSHH.
* Conduct recruitment interviews.
* Ensuring new employees have full induction and training.
* Completing regular audits on cleaning standards, equipment, and uniform.
* Organising and supervising cleaning operatives/team leaders to ensure working practices are efficient and effective.
* Developing and maintaining a good standard of employee relations and motivating employees to ensure a high level of morale.
* Receiving, recording, and informing your Line Manager of any complaints in a timely and well-received manner.
* HR functions, including performance management and return to works.
* Providing a high focus on customer service.
* Reporting any grievance and disciplinary issues to your line manager as necessary, in line with the company’s procedures.
* Carrying out any investigations for disciplinary/accidents as required by Operations Manager.
* Dealing with and actioning annual leave requests, day-to-day telephone calls, enquiries, and messages.
* Carrying out specialist cleaning operations, such as floor maintenance, and training cleaning operatives to complete the necessary tasks.
* Managing operational activities to ensure they meet company and legislative requirements for Health and Safety, quality management, environmental issues, and general duty of care.
* Compliance with company policies and procedures.
Skills:
* Practical experience in the cleaning industry.
* Supervisory experience preferred.
* A sound educational background is required; industry qualifications are advantageous.
* Ability to work early mornings and evenings.
* Lead from the front.
* A strong knowledge of COSHH.
* Commitment to the role.
* A positive, proactive attitude.
* Able to demonstrate discretion.
* Able to work well under pressure.
* A high level of personal presentation.
* Possess a full, current, clean driving licence.
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Pay: From £21,840.00 per year
