Maintenance Operative
Job role Ganymede are seeking an experienced, but above all passionate, people to uphold aspirations. In a customer-facing environment you will be responsible for keeping and maintaining the student residence (communal space and studios) to the highest standards. You will also be responsible for the compliance of the residence to all health and safety and other legislative requirements. This is a very hands-on role where we are seeking an individual with technical knowledge and practical experience to ensure that we complete as much maintenance work as possible internally, providing a friendly, quick and efficient service to our residents.
Role responsibilities DIY (Plumbing, Painting, Decorating, Joinery) for all communal spaces and studios as required.
Grounds upkeep where applicable
Ongoing and prompt management of building facilities, either by carrying out the works yourself or by the procurement of external contractors (as advised by the service desk where applicable)
Maintaining the residence to brand standards, involving painting, floor laying, joinery works and replacements
Ensuring compliance when responding to identified maintenance faults
Ensure compliance of the building with the all health and safety requirements
Manage and record the routine testing, maintenance and risk assessment of all aspects of the residence
Management and close out of all tickets raised on salesforce
Managing all supplies and works within budget
Provide excellent customer service as a member of the residence management team.
Support site team with routine compliance checks BOH folders.
Maintain BOH maintenance stores.
Support with refuge removal and external refuge companies.
Complete showers descale quarterly
Be required to support RM in emergency call outs when incidents / major outages occur
Package
£28K Basic Salary
20 days holiday + 8 bank holidays
Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm
Role requirements The ideal candidate will:
Have knowledge and experience of DIY.
Be service orientated, independent and confident, and have experience in a facilities maintenance role.
Have experience with health and safety requirements.
Be adept at procuring and managing services and goods from external suppliers and contractors where required
Have experience maintaining a budget
Have excellent communication skills and with a helpful, can-do attitude
Be proactive
