Job summary We are a GP practice working across 3 sites around rural Gravesend and Bexley. We are seeking to recruit a receptionist, for our branch surgery site based at Shorne Village Surgery, Gravesend, preferably with general practice experience. The receptionist will perform a patient facing front office function, involving booking in patients on arrival, answering queries, reception navigation and telephone answering involving many aspects of the work covered by general practice. There will be some remote contact/face to face work with patients. Hours are 12 per week, Thursday (8) and Friday (4) in a fixed rota pattern, some additional cover hours for holiday and sickness feature. Main duties of the job The receptionist will perform a patient facing front office function, involving booking in patients on arrival, answering queries, reception navigation and telephone answering involving many aspects of the work covered by general practice. There will be some remote contact/face to face work with patients. Hours are 16 per week, Wednesday Friday in a fixed rota pattern, some additional cover hours for holiday and sickness feature. The ideal applicant will have a general practice background, excellent computer skills, time management and organisational ability are key requirements along with an understanding of patient confidentiality, customer service and ability to work in a team. This position will be subject to a standard DBS check. About us Shorne Surgery is a small branch surgery based in a superb location overlooking the river. It has a small clinical team and a dispensary. During the week, there is turnover of visiting clinical staff from other sites within the practice. Deal with results that are one month old. To make tea and coffee for Doctors and staff when time permits To leave the reception area tidy and ready for incoming colleagues To learn and implement new procedures as appropriate To work together with the other staff to ensure the smooth running of the practice.
